Social Work and Counseling Student Placement

The Center for Family Safety and Healing offers field placement opportunities to social work and counseling students, most typically those involved in a master’s degree program.

Students who are involved in training in the Child Assessment Center, Home Visitation Services, Fostering Connections Program and Adult Services are required to make an academic year commitment to training. Didactic training in core family violence topics is provided and placement within a specific program serves as an opportunity for students to have supervised, direct service experience. The Center for Family Safety and Healing currently has a training agreement with The Ohio State University School of Social Work and works closely with field placement supervisors to assure that learning and placement requirements are met.
