Nurse Family Partnership

Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) provides holistic perinatal nursing support and community health nursing to mothers, birthing people, and their families. NFP perinatal nurse support is free of charge and focuses where it is needed most: in communities most impacted by social, structural, and economic inequity. NFP nurses provide comprehensive nursing support for pregnant people from early pregnancy up to the child’s second birthday. NFP improves pregnancy, birth, and child outcomes by providing focused health, parenting and attachment education, empowering personal decision making and connecting families to community resources to meet their goals.

Nurse-Family Partnership is a program for pregnant women and birthing people. NFP now has expanded eligibility to support both those pregnant for the first time and those who have had more than one baby. If you choose to enroll, a specially trained nurse will visit with you throughout your pregnancy and can continue to visit until your baby is two years old.

Any pregnant person may enroll if:

  • Is currently pregnant
  • Has WIC, has Medicaid, or meets the income requirements
  • Can complete at least one visit before the baby is born
  • Also, you can join as early in your pregnancy as you like!
Nurse-Family Partnership encourages fathers, family members and even friends to be involved in the visits and learn how they can best support you. You and your nurse decide who gets involved.
